They also raised slogans against the state food and civil supplies minister for his failure in this regard.Aasu Jorhat district general secretary Jitu Neog said, "The people of Assam have been bearing the brunt of skyrocketing price rise and the government is not doing anything for some unknown reasons. "He added, "The BJP-led government at the Centre and in the state came to the power with their commitment to control price rise for the greater interest of the common people. "On Wednesday, Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) activists took to the streets for the same reason in Golaghat. AJYCP activists launched a drive in the markets of Golaghat town and collected price list from traders. The DCs of Jorhat and Golaghat had paid sudden visits to the markets and passed an order to hang the government-fixed price list in every business establishment.
