Three-member committees were also inaugurated to entertain complaints and appeals that may arise from the congresses. The Appeal committees have, among others, Chris Akoma as chairman (Ebonyi State); Gbenga Elegbeleye (Rivers); Bashir Lado (Ogun); Abubakar Maikudi (Bauchi); Jerry Ugog (Kano) and Kogolo Peter (Imo). APC National Organising Secretary, Osita Izunaso, who inaugurated the committees on behalf of Odigie-Oyegun, said the exercise must be conducted in conformity with the official APC guidelines for state congresses. Also, the Ebonyi State chapter of the party has rejected the zoning formula adopted by the Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu-led faction, describing the move as undemocratic. In a related development, the Taraba State chapter has called for the postponement of the state congress slated for Saturday, May 19, saying it has become a source of concern to a faction of the party.
