The ANC party has invited applications from interested individuals who wish to be nominated to various legislative houses. The party has imposed a nonrefundable application fee of Sh10,000 for those seeking nomination to the National Assembly and the Senate while those seeking nomination to county assemblies will be charged Sh5,000. The number of nominees a political party is allocated in each of the three houses is based on its representation in those houses. Deputy President William Ruto’s UDA and Raila Odinga’s ODM have already invited qualified party members to submit their applications. The political parties are expected to rake in millions of shillings in nomination fees from candidates seeking special seats.
