On the other hand, the local Awami League leaders have alleged that their campaign offices were burned down by BNP men. BNP activists alleged that at least 10 motorcycles were vandalized and four stolen during the attack. They alleged that 30-40 men led by Amdia Union Awami League Organizing Secretary Chhao Miah attacked the motorcade with sticks and other weapons. Amdia Union Awami League President Abdullah Ibne Rahid Mithu denied the allegations and said that it was Moyeen Khan who had brought hired goons, and vandalized and set fire to two Awami League campaign offices in Belab Bazar. Pachdona Police Outpost in-charge SI Yusuf Miah said he was aware of arguments between Awami League and BNP activists in Meherpara over a procession, but had no news of the incidents in Belab Bazar.
