Kabirhat police station Officer-in-Charge MirzaHasan said BNP and Jubo League had arranged separate street rallies in Kabirhat Zero Point area. BNP’sKabirhatMunicipality Unit President MostafizurRahmanManju said activists of Chhatra League and Jubo League, associated wings of the ruling Awami League, chasedtheBNPsupportersas they were gathering near KabirhatBazar to attend the street rally. About 20 BNP activists were injured in the attack, Manju said, adding that the injured were admitted to local hospitals. Refuting the BNP allegation, Jubo League’s KabirhatUpazilaUnit General Secretary Nazrul Islam said local BNP activists attacked their party supporters in Kabirhat area, leaving at least 10 people injured.
