AFP supports resumption of peace talks 1 SHARES Share it! Share TweetBy Martin SadongdongThe Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has expressed support to the decision of President Duterte to revive the peace negotiations with the Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army – National Democratic Front of the Philippines (CPP-NPA-NDFP). Duterte said earlier that he is sending Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III to The Netherlands and start the informal talks with CPP founder Jose Maria “Joma” Sison for the resumption of peace negotiations. “The AFP respects and supports the wisdom of the Commander-in-Chief in issuing such pronouncements,” said Brigadier General Edgard Arevalo, AFP spokesperson, on Saturday afternoon. The CPP founder emphasized that the Duterte regime already “killed” the Philippine government and CPP-NPA-NDFP negotiations in 2017 by issuing Proclamation No.360 which officially terminated the peace talks, Proclamation No.
