The Chief of Staff at the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), Major General Daniel Ziankahn has said the AFL will play a limited role in the October 2017 Presidential and Legislative elections. The Chief of Staff noted that there are security agencies responsible for elections and would perform their roles. The AFL Chief of Staff made the remarks Tuesday when the Armed Forces of Liberia held its 60th Armed Forces Day Symposium at the Monrovia City Hall. Meanwhile, the AFL official has said the accidental shooting of a boy in the West Point Township some two years ago does not represent the true picture Liberian army. General Ziankahn stated that the West Point Township incident in which one Shaki Kamara was killed, should not define the AFL, noting that such experience will not be repeated by the AFL in its operations.
