Women of Liberian have hailed the extraordinary leadership of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as Chairperson of ECOWAS. The women in a statement presented to the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection expressed gratitude to President Sirleaf and said they are equally proud of her role as current Chair of theAuthority of Heads of State and Governments of ECOWAS. They specifically pointed to how President Johnson Sirleaf proficiently and peacefully handled the dialogue which later resulted to a smooth transition of the former Gambian leader, Yaya Jammeh, without bloodshed. The Women of Liberia through the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP) have at the same time extended heartfelt congratulations to Madam Fatumata Tambajang on her ascendancy as Vice President of the Republic of Gambia. The Gambian Vice President has been described as an eye opener in highlighting the need for women to step up to the occasion and make their voices heard.
