DHAKA, May 28, 2024 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission has summoned former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed, his wife and three daughters to face interrogation over graft allegations. On Tuesday, the commission sent a letter to them to this end, ACC officials said whishing not to be named. The national anti-graft body asked Benazir Ahmed to appear before it on June 6 next, while his wife and daughters have been asked to present at the ACC headquarters on June 9 to face its questioning. The anti-graft watchdog came up with the move days after a court ordered the authorities concerned to confiscate the properties of Benazir and his family members. Three days later, the same court asked the authorities concerned to confiscate assets under 119 more deeds of Benazir and his family members in connection with alleged graft.
