Abdul Latif Siddiqui Dhaka TribuneBy selling government property, Siddiqui made a criminal breach of trust and incurred a loss of Tk40.69 lakh to the public exchequerThe Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday approved the submission of a charge-sheet in a corruption case filed against two, including former Jute and Textiles minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui. ACC Assistant Director Md Aminul Islam had filed the case with Adamdighi Police Station in Bogra accusing Latif Siddiqui and one Begum Jahanara Rashid, on October 17 in 2017. In accordance with the case details, Latif Siddiui misusing his power vested upon him as Jute and Textiles minister, sold 2.38 acres of land to Jahanara Rashid flouting the rule of selling government property. By selling the land at Tk23.94 lakh instead of its market price of at least Tk64.63 lakh, Siddiqui made a criminal breach of trust and incurred a loss of Tk40.69 lakh to the public exchequer.
