The arrestees, believed to be members of a militant ‘sleeper cell’, are Mustafizur Rahman alias Shifat, 27, Jahid Hasan alias Moin, 21, Noyon Hossain, 21, Jahid Anowar alias Porag 21, Tajul Islam alias Tajul, 29, Ziabul Haque, 24. RAB arrested the men in separate raids between Tuesday night and Wednesday from Mirpur, Gabtoli and Airport rail station. The men have been accused in three cases – possession of illegal firearms, explosives and anti-terrorism. A Dhaka court has given police permission to interrogate six suspected militants, believed to be members of a suicide squad, for 10 days each. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Alamgir Kabir Raj granted police’s remand application on Thursday afternoon.
