ABS-CBN Ball has nothing to do with Star Magic Ball, says networkMANILA, Philippines — In a text message, an ABS-CBN representative told Philstar.com that its upcoming first-ever ABS-CBN Ball on September 29 has nothing to do with the now defunct Star Magic Ball, and therefore, should be considered as an entirely new fashion and red carpet event. According to the representative, ABS-CBN’s homegrown talent management agency, Star Magic, has nothing to do with ABS-CBN Ball, and therefore should not be associated with the ball. The representative confirmed that Star Magic Ball has been discontinued, but offered no explanation why. Star Magic Ball ran for 11 seasons, culminating in Star Magic's 25th anniversary in 2017.
