AAP extends support to drought-hit farmers


more-inThe Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will start a massive movement from June 10 to support farmers from drought-hit States who have been demanding that their loans be waived. Across StatesThe AAP decided to extend support to farmers from various States, including Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, in their national executive meeting on Sunday. He said the condition of farmers across these States is worrisome and that the party discussed their issues in great detail during the meeting. Mr. Singh claimed that at least 60 farmers had committed suicide in Punjab after the Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress government came to power. The AAP leader added that the party had also decided to replicate a strong organisational structure, similar to the one in place at the Capital, across various States.
