A trove of Apollo spaceflight hardware just sold at auction

This week's auction, which ended Thursday night, sold items from about 45 collectors, including Steve Jurvetson, the SpaceX andboard member and Silicon Valley investor. In all, 288 items sold for $690,000. A small American flag that traveled to the moon with the Apollo 15 astronauts sold for $31,251. One of the items RR Auction sold this week was a spoon used by astronaut Edgar Mitchell during the Apollo 14 missoin. And RR Auction zeroed in, signing up astronauts and longtime collectors to use their platform to trade artifacts.
