The Revell family from Kaponga, Taranaki, have enjoyed a lifelong love affair with jerseys, dating back to when Arthur and Margaret Revell established Beledene Stud in 1949. "I like to see good jersey cows." In 1988 they bought a bull, Nirravale Choice Design, which had been sired by Ferdon Choice Harvest, for just $20. Ferdon Choice Harvest originated from Ferdon Genetics in Otorohanga, owned by the late Don Ferguson and his son Warren.
