Handling the Rohingya crisis, in all its complexity, costs a lot of money, and footing the bill is a responsibility of the world community. Since the UN announced its official estimate of the amount of money it would take to help the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh — $434 million — the world has responded with open wallets. Answering the call for funds, at least 35 nations and blocs have pledged support to Bangladesh in helping the Rohingya. To that end, the support of the international community is not only most welcome, but needed. Among the 35 nations and blocs, the UK has pledged $63m, the EU $42m, the US $38m, and Sweden $24m, while the total amount pledged standing at $345m.
