In recent years, the United States has adopted the Indo-Pacific term in its foreign and security policies. The Dhaka Global Dialogue ended on a note of building connectivity and the geo-political community around the Bay of Bengal and the wider Indo-Pacific. The Bay of Bengal faces several non-traditional security challenges, including piracy, terrorist networks, and human trafficking. Bangladesh should increase its defense cooperation with democratic powers outside the region to strengthen the rules-based order in the Bay of Bengal and the Indo-Pacific.
