He’s been writing for the Guardian and its sister weekly the Observer about the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS), public health and medicine since 2007. Is there not something too familiar for comfort about woeful workforce neglect? New Zealand’s public health measures were fit for purpose (public safety); the UK’s were fit for high mortality. Vaccination rates and good public health measures should mitigate somewhat (the extent to which is unknown). But its approach to its health workforce was also unkind and uncompassionate.
