Credit: CapcomWhat with the continued success of the Monster Hunter series, it was inevitable that we would end up with a live-action movie adaptation at some point. According to Variety, production for this live-action Monster Hunter movie will start in September with a budget of around $60 million. If you remember, this live-action Monster Hunter movie has been bubbling away for a while now and back in 2016, Impact Pictures explained the premise of the story around that time as well. Now for anyone that has played a Monster Hunter game, then this narrative setup sounds very bizarre and weird. I get why this production team is onboard for a live-action Monster Hunter movie, as the Resident Evil films have done well financially but I am not sure this team and premise, if the latter has remained unchanged since 2016, are the right way to go for a Monster Hunter movie.
