Soul-chilling cries of terror and anguish amid the rat-tat-tat-tat of a sniper’s gunfire fill recordings of 911 calls from the Oct. 1 Las Vegas massacre released by police Wednesday. In one of the calls, made five minutes into the 10-minute attack, a woman attending the country music festival breathlessly reports that her friend has been shot and the dispatcher asks where they are located. Before she can finish her answer bursts of rapid fire can be heard in the background.
