An unfortunate causality occurred when the victim of a robbery was allegedly mistaken as the robber himself and was killed, leading to the arrest of six policemen in Karachi’s Korangi Industrial Area on Wednesday. After the incident, the relatives of the persons killed that these were not dacoits, but the victims of the robbery. Confusion arose due to the fact that mugging victims had thrown their valuables into the bushes to avoid being looted. This led the police to assume that the people collecting the valuables were not the victims, but the robbers. Acting on the presumption, the officers opened fire, resulting in the death of one and injury of the other two.
