DHAKA, Jan 24, 2024 (BSS) - The Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) arrested six members of an organized gang, who stole crores of Taka by scamming people in the name of teaching freelancing, from Uttara in the capital on Tuesday evening. The arrested are Shamim Ahmed, 32, Zahidul Islam, 24, Mahidul Haque, 30, Ashraful Islam, 26, Ehsan Mashfi, 24 and Roni Sardar, 28. Senior ASP and Assistant Director of ATU, Wahida Parveen told BSS that, "A team of Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) raided Sector-6 area of Uttara (East) police station at around 7:15 pm and arrested them. "Many people are earning money by working successfully in various freelancing sites or market places. Taking advantage of this popularity of freelancing, the scammers established 'Upspot Academy'.
