6,000 policemen in Pahang undergo training for GE14


KUANTAN: Around 6,000 policemen in Pahang have undergone training to safeguard security and smoothen running of the 14th General Election (GE14). Pahang police chief Datuk Rosli Ab Rahman said all officers and personnel had gone through the training, which involved duties during the campaigning period, vote-counting and announcement of the election results, among others. He was speaking during the closing ceremony for the Light Strike Force Series 2/2017 course at the Pahang Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) here on Sunday. Rosli said that among the courses the policemen had gone through were utilisation of information system, control centre, operations room handling, and election law. He said that Pahang IPK had also carried out general election simulation to ensure all policemen were ready to face any situation that arose before and after GE14.
