The High Court has commuted the death sentence of Oishee Rahman for murdering her parents in 2013. The court sentenced her to life imprisonment on Monday, nearly a month after concluding the hearing. While passing the order, Justice Jahangir Hossain and Justice Md Jahangir Hossain mentioned five reasons why Oishee’s punishment was commuted. Oishee moved the High Court a month later and sought acquittal of all charges. On March 12 this year, the High Court began hearing on the appeal and death reference.
