Typically, the task of leading various police units falls on officers holding the rank of additional inspector general. Accordingly, the five officers will serve as the new heads of their respective units. Md Abdul Alim Mahmud, formerly the additional inspector general of the River Police, has also been transferred to the Police Headquarters. Kusum Dewan, recently promoted to additional inspector general at the CID, has been transferred to the River Police. Additionally, the transfer order for Md Tawfiq Mahbub Chowdhury, the additional inspector general for the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), has been revoked.
