A 45-year-old woman from Mumbai's Madanpura area approached the Agripada police claiming that she woke up in the early hours of Saturday to find a portion of her hair chopped off while she was asleep. Her claims follow close on the heels of the recent cases reported from different parts of Haryana, Chandigarh and Rajasthan of women's braids being mysteriously chopped off when they were asleep. According to the complaint filed by Shaikh, when she woke up around 2 am on Saturday, she found that some of her hair was chopped off. She immediately started shouting, and Shaikh's brother-in-law, Akbar, who stays in the neighborhood immediately reached there and saw Shaikh holding her chopped hair. The police have only recorded our statement and said that they will call us later for registering a case.
