KUALA LUMPUR: Forty-four Malaysians will be flying off to the United Kingdom as recipients of the prestigious British government's Chevening scholarship next month for the 2017/2018 academic session. The Chevening Scholarship is Britain's global scholarship programme funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and partner organisations. They were shortlisted from a record 830 applicants, said British High Commissioner to Malaysia Vicki Treadell at the pre-departure briefing and reception for the scholars at the British High Commissioner's Residence on Thursday. She added that Malaysia continues to receive one of the highest number of Chevening scholarships per capita in the world. The British High Commission is currently receiving applications for those who wish to study in the UK for the 2018/19 academic year.
