4 cops jailed 3 years, fined RM45,000 each for corruption


KUANTAN: Four policemen were each jailed 3 years and fined RM45,000 by the Sessions Court today after they were found guilty of two counts of corruption involving RM8,000. They also faced a second charge of receiving another RM1,000 from Abdul Wahab at another restaurant in Rompin on Dec 22, 2014. All four policemen were fined RM45,000 and jailed for three years each after they were found guilty of two counts of graft at Kuantan Sessions Court. Pic by ZULKEPLI OSMANThey were jailed two years and fined RM35,000 in default 18 months' jail on the first charge, and jailed one year and fined RM10,000 in default six months' jail for the second offence. The bribe was an inducement not to take action against Abdul Wahab’s son, Mohd Shafiq Abdul Wahab, for allegedly driving without a permit and licence to carry rubber wood.
