GEORGE TOWN: Rescue workers have begun evacuating the 36 people stranded on Penang Hill. Policed confirmed that a total of 36 people were stranded at the top of the hill when floods hit Penang on Saturday (Nov 4). Earlier, Penang Hill Corporation general manager L. L. Cheok announced that the rescue team had reached the top of the hill at around 11.20am. "The team managed to clear space for the helicopter to land near the Governor's Bungalow at the top of Penang Hill. "Water supply has been restored partially at the top and food supply is sufficient," he told the press at the Penang Hill lower station.
