Thirty six men and 17 women are among the 53 arrested following protests last night in Central, the Hong Kong Police said in a statement. They were arrested for offenses including unlawful assembly and participating in an unauthorized assembly. "Protesters blocked roads repeatedly and behaved in a disorderly manner, last night,'' the police said. At about 6:00pm yesterday, protesters began gathering in Chater Garden. The police they they dispersed the protesters, but some ignored warnings and blocked roads again.
