Earlier in May, the panel was in Mombasa vetting traffic officers. Three hundred and two police officers have been sacked for refusing to appear before the vetting board. The vetting panel is assessing officers based on entry and training requirements, their professional conduct and discipline, integrity, financial probity, and respect for human rights. Kavuludi said the officers, who rank from chief inspectors to police inspectors, were asked to surrender possessions such as guns to those in charge. NPSC said via Twitter that six chief inspectors and six inspectors of police will be interviewed on day one of vetting of traffic officers from Nyanza today.
