The gridlock is in place for the third day on Thursday. Sources said the extreme slow pace of the vehicles are due to Meghna, Gumti and Kanchpur bridges taking road tolls at a dreadfully slow pace. Officer-in-charge of Daudkandi Police Station Abul Kalam said: “The tailback is on both sides of the highway. Vehicular movement remained slow since Tuesday night due to the ongoing development work of Meghna, Gumti and Kanchpur bridges.”He also said highway police are trying to ease the gridlock at the earliest.
