30,000 engineering seats in Gujarat may remain vacant this year


The ACPC has decided that after two rounds of admission, it will let the management of colleges fill vacant seats. Officials of the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) are worried because only 48,000 students have registered for 71,000 engineering seats in 138 colleges across the state.The officials are expecting a record number of seats, 30,000, to remain vacant this year. Officials said that last year 22,000 seats had been vacant after the final admission round. They said, as it is, at the end of the registration stage, 23,000 seats are vacant. Ahmedabad: Registration for admission into engineering and pharmacy colleges has ended.
