Kiambu police commander Adiel Nyange said the three robbers had entered the godown from the back fence and began loading products into one of the godown's trucks. "They scaled the high wall and cut the godown's razor and electrical wire fencing to access the compound. He said the police officers moved in swiftly and the robbers engaged them in a shoot-out. Other robbers said to be about four who were keeping watch aboard a truck that was on standby outside the godown escaped during the shoot-out.
