Among the convicted, the court delivered death penalty to Bahadur Miya, Milton and Rony Mia, confirmed Assistant Public Prosecutor Rafiqul Islam Khan Alo. Of the six others convicted Shahinur, Abdul Malek and Johirul Islam were sentenced to jail until death, and Md Shamim, Arif and Zakir Hossain were awarded life term in prison. The next day, one of their abductors contacted an uncle of Shakil and Imran and demanded Tk1 lakh as ransom. On January 29, police found their throat-slit body from a lemon field in Gumgram Bazar area in Mirzapur.
