From Monday till Wednesday, ostriches at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park in Gazipur, have given birth to three baby chicks. This is the second time ostriches give birth to baby chicks in such cramped environment in Gazipur. “We got three ostrich chicks out of eight eggs till Wednesday.”According to the park official, six ostriches from South Africa were introduced to the park in 2013, of which two were male and four were female. Another wildlife inspector of the park Anisur Rahman said a large ostrich can live up to 60 years and weighs from 65-145 kilograms. Park official Motaleb Hossain said the birth of chicks in such an adverse environment has created hope.
