JOHOR BARU: The state Islamic Religious Department and police detained 21 people at a house in Ulu Tiram last night over suspicion of taking part in a Syia-related event. "They were detained under Section 9 of the Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment 1997 for violating the religious authority's fatwa.
