Air China, one of China’s three major state-owned airlines, is joining carriers that want compensation from Boeing Co. for the grounding of its 737 Max jetliner following two fatal crashes. It is the second major Chinese carrier to ask for compensation following China Eastern in April, 2019. Investigators have suggested a flight-control system was to blame for both 737 Max crashes. China Southern wants compensation for disruption due to being unable to use its 737 Max planes, said an employee of its publicity department.
