The Independent National Electoral Commission has agreed to throw open the processes that would take place at the Situation Room during the 2019 elections to enhance the integrity of the election, a source close to the Commission has said. Opening up of the Situation Room has been a key demand of opposition parties and election monitors, especially from Western countries in the build-up to the 2019 elections. “I can tell you that the Commission has decided to throw open the operations of the Situation Room during the 2019 elections. With the information at my disposal, I can confirm that the Commission has decided to give access to relevant stakeholders at the Situation Room during the elections. “The Commission will grant access to groups and those accredited and go in and out of the Situation Room.”
