Senior BJP leaders hope that with the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP will be able to repeat its performance in UP. There will be elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. Political analysts say Shah has recognized the seriousness of the challenges ahead for the BJP. This is Modi’s 11th visit to Uttar Pradesh since May 2015.
