The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has lauded two women who separately overpowered and disarmed gunmen during attempted robberies. The guns recovered have been identified as those stolen from police officers in past crimes. Investigations established that the gun was stolen from an AP officer deployed to Critical Infrastructure Police Unit in Ndhiwa. A man and his wife were accosted by a suspected armed robber while opening their shop at 6 am. The gun was identified as one stolen on April 19, 2023, from a Kitale Medium Prison Officer at the Kitale Referral Hospital.
