With the latest developments, so far, a total of seven murder cases have been filed against Pradeep. Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Court 3 Judge Md Helal Uddin, after the hearings, directed Teknaf police station to look for any other cases lodged over the incidents. On August 5, Sinha’s sister, Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, filed a case with the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court of Teknaf against nine policemen, including Pradeep and Liakat. Pradeep Kumar Das, Inspector Liakat Ali, and Nanda Dulal were taken into RAB custody for questioning on August 18.
