Officers then identified themselves and moved in, the suspects fled under the cover of darkness, taking advantage of their familiarity with the area. A subsequent search led to the seizure of seven sacks of speed pills, totalling about 2.37 million tablets. According to the navy, the seizure highlighted the continued attempts by cross border criminal syndicates to smuggle narcotics into Thailand.
