He was speaking as the chief guest at a seminar on “India, Bangladesh relations” organised by New Delhi-based Civil Services Officers Institute on Sunday. Ali said Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been relentlessly working for all round cooperation between the two countries based on mutual trust and confidence. Muazzem Ali said cooperation in the energy sector is the hallmark of renewed engagements between the two countries. “Taking advantage of unique geographical location Bangladesh is poised to play its natural role as a hub of connectivity,” he said. He said having resolved the Ganges water sharing issue with India Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has now taken initiative to break the deadlock on Teesta water sharing.
