UVALDE, Texas — An 18-year-old gunman opened fire Tuesday at a Uvalde, Texas elementary school, killing at least 19 children and two adults, officials said. Abbott said the man walked into Robb Elementary School, about 85 miles west of San Antonio, and opened fire. It was the deadliest school shooting in Texas history and the deadliest shooting at a U.S. grade school since a gunman killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut. Robb Elementary School has an enrollment of just under 600 students.
