From Hemanta Kumar Nath, Our Correspondent/Meghalaya -Guwahati, At least 16 people including women were killed and over 50 others injured while a speeding truck carrying them, was overturned in West Khasi Hills district in north eastern Indian state of Meghalaya on Sunday morning. “The driver of the overcrowded truck lost his control over the speeding vehicle and it overturned after hit at the concrete barricade,” a police official said. In the incident, 12 people were killed on spot and four others succumbed their injuries at hospital. Local people had immediately admitted the injured persons to nearest hospital. Some severely injured persons are being referred to Shillong.
