KOTA KINABALU: Sixteen Chinese tourists and their guide escaped with light injuries when the bus they were travelling in skidded and crashed into a drain along the Beaufort – Papar road on Tuesday (Nov 21). Beaufort police chief Deputy Supt Azmir Abd Razak said the bus driver, Muddin Salaming, 62, lost control of the bus before it crashed when reaching the stretch of road. “The driver and 38-year-old local tour guide were not injured in the accident,” he said. He said one of the tourists, Shang Yan Fen, 62, injured her head while the others were lightly hurt and given outpatient treatment. “Shang was taken to the Beaufort Hospital before being transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital II for further examination,” he said.
