Law enforcement agencies have now established control over the Salimpur forest area, officials said. DIG Ahsan Habib Palash said that law enforcement agencies have now established "full authority and control" in the Jungle Salimpur area. On January 19 this year, RAB-7 Deputy Assistant Director Motaleb Hossain Bhuiyan was killed and three others were injured in a terrorist attack during a raid in the Salimpur forest. Following the incident, law enforcement agencies launched a large-scale operation in the area, long known for drug trafficking, illegal weapons and gang activities.
