A 13-year-old girl from Kajiado county is fighting for her life after giving birth last Thursday. She is undergoing treatment for pre-eclampsia, a condition developed during pregnancy and characterised by high blood pressure and high protein in urine. The girl developed the condition shortly after delivering a baby girl weighing 1.7kgs at Kajiado district hospital. "It is often followed by a coma, which poses a threat to the health of the mother and baby." She is yet to wake up so it's a watch-and-wait situation," Hersi told journalists.
