A report from the examiner's office says the boat was conducting "recreational manoeuvres" while dragging a tube carrying a passenger. Initial search for girl unsuccessfulThe San Diego Fire Department says the incident occurred around 6 p.m. on August 11 at the San Vicente Reservoir northeast of the city. Several media outlets report that Barakett was about to enter Grade 8 at a Catholic school in Waterloo, Ont. The medical examiner's report said that Barakett lived with her mother.
